Dani Ruhf Honored with Governor’s Keystone Award

CHOP Out Hunger is proud to celebrate Founder and CEO Dani Ruhf, who was recently honored with a Governor’s Keystone Award from Governor Josh Shapiro at the 2026 State Dinner.
The award recognizes Dani’s extraordinary commitment to fighting childhood hunger and making sure children have access to food when they need it most. Her journey began after learning from her daughter that children in their community were struggling with food insecurity. Rather than simply recognizing the problem, Dani took action, and that vision became CHOP Out Hunger.
Over the years, Dani’s dedication has helped transform CHOP Out Hunger into an organization serving children and families throughout Pennsylvania. Through school-based programs, community partnerships, and other initiatives, CHOP Out Hunger works every day to make sure children have access to the food they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
While the Keystone Award honors Dani’s leadership, it also represents the collective efforts of the entire CHOP Out Hunger community. Our staff, volunteers, donors, schools, food partners, and supporters all play an important role in making this mission possible.
We are incredibly proud to see Dani’s dedication recognized at the state level. Her compassion, determination, and belief that no child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from continue to inspire everything we do.
Congratulations, Dani, on this well-deserved honor! We are grateful for your leadership and proud to continue working alongside you to CHOP Out Hunger and create a brighter, healthier future for Pennsylvania’s youth.
