CHOP Out Hunger Receives Support from Popeyes Foundation Food Love Grant

CHOP Out Hunger is thrilled to announce that we have received a $2,055.00 grant from the Popeyes Foundation Food Love Grant program to support direct food costs for our Weekend Backpack Program. Thanks to this generous funding, 297 students received nutritious food to take home over the weekend, ensuring they have meals even when school isn’t in session.

CHOP Out Hunger is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Pennsylvania. Each week, we provide access to healthy meals for thousands of children across 21 counties through programs such as the Weekend Backpack Program, In-School Pantry Program, and Pop-Up Pantries. Our mission is to ensure that every child has enough to eat so they can focus on learning, growing, and thriving.

Since 2018, the Popeyes Foundation has been committed to strengthening communities with food and support in times of need. In 2023, they launched SERVING WITH LOVE®, an initiative that directs a percentage of funds raised in restaurants through the Food Love Grants Program while continuing to provide emergency-related support for Popeyes Team Members. This incredible effort is made possible by the dedication of Popeyes franchisees and Team Members, who are passionate about giving back to their communities.

What makes the Food Love Grants Program truly unique is that its inspiration comes from Popeyes’ beloved New Orleans roots, a tradition of looking out for neighbors and serving communities through food. The program focuses on making sure everyone has a seat at the table and can experience homemade-style, soul-warming meals, ensuring no one goes hungry. Support from this program ranges from out-of-school meals, mobile food kitchens, home delivery meal programs, to onsite feeding programs, all designed to meet the needs of local communities in meaningful ways.
